two poems

by Sean G. Meggeson

spaceship earth

a rag

or another

cleaning thing

under the sink

a contextual truth

nah

giving up is

giving up

no one asked

which way is up

no one sussed out

a bodega

and look

sis puts out

her smoke on

her tongue and

the whole block

losses it’s axis

for a minute

that’s a lot

that’s all we got

The Theory of the Richer Fool

The bad name of the rat is a synthesis

of one retrograde fantasy after another.

Today’s post-hallucinogenic time zones,

tomorrow’s flash-backs of a buggy cottage.

We drink all day on the patio. Stubbies

of Dragon, a dialogue of dressing down

repressed as muted rage: Harold Searles

wrote through pyromania and ballroom 78s.

And the paper he wrote:

“The Effort to Drive the Other Person Crazy—An Element

in the Aetiology and Psychotherapy of Schizophrenia.”

So let’s get to work. The word purposive forms

in the lower intestines. Could be popcorn. Could

be cobalt. Regardless, I demand that you to consume me

at the cherry blossom festival. A would-be act of repair.
